PROJECT: Passage Doors
COMMENTS: To give their family more privacy, these homeowners decided to invest in a doorway that would enhance the value of the house while making a pleasing transition between dining room and home office.
Bevelled Glass was used to create an old-world feel to the opening. The curved shape already existed in the doorway, and we fit the doorway to it, incorporating the two side panels flanking a central door.
The curved tops of the side panels look simple, but they involve no fewer than five different custom curved forms: the glass stop, inner and outer door edges, the door frame, and the outer casing or trim.
The finish is three coats of interior satin enamel.
WOOD: Yellow Poplar
