Shelves

Comments:   The massive planks of wood which make up this display shelving were designed by my customers to honor the simple, honest style of Craftsman woodwork they found in their home. The curved front edge and varying shelf sizes add a pleasing liveliness to the piece --- it's almost as if it had been built along with the original house.

The heavy slabs of solid White Oak are notched into one another with slots cut half-through each board. No glue is used; instead, the whole assembly is fitted together like a jigsaw puzzle. And if they ever have to move, it can be disassembled again--though we are hoping they never have to.

The wood is stained to match the home's woodwork, then finished with three coats of clear urethane.
