Hearth Mantlepiece

Comments:  To complete a new stone fireplace, the owner designed this Craftsman-style mantle and wall display. The classic look is irresistable, creating a warm and inviting place to take one's leisure.

Low bookshelves, extending to either side of the fireplace, have plenty of room for the latest Sherlock Holmes episode, the Sears catalog, or perhaps the magazine with the article about that newfangled steam engine.

The wood framework above the mantle was carefully placed to showcase two handmade hanging lamps. At the four intersections of the frame, four ceramic tiles are inlaid into the wood.
